As an independent brand strategy consultant, I help brands and agencies to deliver strategy-led brand communications. Whether it is creating a new brand, rethinking the way it is positioned in the market, mapping out strategic business opportunities, or sharpening the brand story to be relevant to current and future customers.
It is about understanding the essence – and goals – of the brand, building upon it, and thoughtfully challenging it, to deliver meaningful brand experiences.
Living and working in seven different countries across four continents, and travelling extensively as a lifestyle, have given me an immense sense of curiosity, cultural understanding and wider perspective of things, which help me to inspire and collaborate with organisation and branding agencies to make bold strategic, commercial and creative decisions. The result is brands that standout, have a solid ground to scale and transform, and yet understand and nurture their unique essence.
I started off a career in marketing and business development, before moving into communications. After a few years with global advertising agencies Saatchi & Saatchi and DDB, I worked for boutique branding agencies in Hong Kong and Vietnam. Now, based in South Africa, I seamlessly plug into my clients’ teams to lead brand strategy work in sectors that include travelling and hospitality, real estate, banking and logistics, across markets.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business from EAFIT in Colombia, a Master’s degree in International Marketing and Management from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, and have a passion for the arts and outdoor sports.
